Hello, I'm Nick Patino

I am a web developer, RPG gaming enthusiast, and lifelong learner. Growing up in the 90s, I faced a challenging childhood that involved moving between homeless shelters, churches, convents, and campgrounds. These experiences taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of creativity, all of which shape my approach to life and work today.

My professional journey began in physical security at a facility with a government contract, where I obtained a secret clearance. Later, I took on the role of head of security at a major hotel, where I helped establish the building’s security protocols and onboarded my team. It was during this time that I decided to pursue my passion for coding and development more seriously, which led me to transition into the insurance industry while going back to college to formalize my skills.

I am currently completing my last class to earn my degree, and I've maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my studies. While working in the insurance sector, I applied my growing knowledge of web development and self-taught Visual Basic skills to create systems for security audits, automate processes, and improve overall business operations. I advanced to the role of Process Improvement Specialist and team lead, further honing my technical and leadership skills.

Alongside these professional accomplishments, I also achieved a personal milestone by purchasing my own home, a testament to my dedication and determination to succeed against the odds. Now, I am eager to fully transition into a development role, leveraging my expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, and more to create innovative and impactful solutions.
